Transports inside Barcelona

You can choose between:
  • the metro (M) or underground: L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, L9, L10, L11 + Funicular de Montjuic (that is a funicular railway)
  • the tram (tramcar or streetcar): Trambaix (north of barcelona) :T1, T2, T3, TramBesós (south of Barcelona): T4, T5, T6
  • Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya (FGC), that is trains that go outside Barcelona but there are some stops inside the city too. This is the case of S1, S2, S5, S55 go to different cities from Barcelona/ Plaça Catalunya. Then we have other lines that go to other cities from the Barcelona/ Plaça Espanya Station: S33, S4, S8, R5, R6. There are some lines that are considered part of the underground, because they are limited to Barcelona: L6, L7, L8, but they belong to FGC. We also have "Funicular de Vallvidrera" that is another funicular railway that goes to the Tibidabo. You need to take the Blue Tram first.
  • Renfe (Rodalies/Cercanias) (R) that is trains that go outside Barcelona but there are some stops inside the city too. R1, R2, R3, R4, R7

    Leisure Transports: There is a teleferic or cable car too (from Barceloneta neighbourhood to Montjuïc neighbourhood. There is also a Touristic bus (more info)

AIRPORTS

The main airport is El Prat, located close to Barcelona (about 15 minuts). Girona airport is about 1.30 h from Barcelona, Reus is about the same time, and Lleida airport is about 2 hours.

There is terminal 1 (the new one) and Terminal 2. Most of the flights go to T1
The cheapest and easiest way to go to the airport is using the Aerobus. Taxi is the easiest option but a little more expensive (around 25 euros).
I don´t recommend using Renfe (train)
